Samsung Software of America
Worked with parent company, Samsung (the second largest industrial company in Korea), to create new entity and new market for North America. Parent company wished to diversify into information technology, expanding reach from hardware provider to software and consumer electronic products. Most importantly, parent company wanted to create a platform to go beyond products and services and to inspire people to take more initiative in their businesses and in their lives. Samsung Software was formed to execute this vision. Initially the company was focused on small to mid-sized businesses to introduce consumer electronic and software products. This strategy was co-developed with parent company to allow for both vertical and horizontal integration of all Samsung offerings. As products and services developed, Samsung Software provided tools, products, and services that gave the consumer a greater sense of command of their environment and business, and allowed for efficiencies in merging technologies, consumer products, computers, and software to facilitate their life. The strategy we created generated the lifestyle we experience today where products such as cell phones, computers, cameras, and entertainment systems are integrated and communicate and function in a cohesive manner.
